Subkhan Mamedov won a gold medal at the World Boxing Championships in Dubai. This is the first gold medal for the Azerbaijani national team at the tournament.
Azerbaijani boxer Subkhan Mamedov, competing in the 47 kg weight class, won a gold medal at the World Boxing Championships held in Dubai, UAE.
In the final, Mamedov defeated Russia's Edmond Khudoyan. 11 athletes represented the Azerbaijani national team at the tournament, and two of them, Alfonso Dominguez and Magomed Abdullayev, earned bronze medals.
