Phone talks between the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov and U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Colin Kahl took place at the initiative of the U.S. side on September 15, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan said.
During the telephone conversation, the sides discussed issues of bilateral military cooperation, the confrontation on the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border, as well as the current situation.
Since the night of September 12, the armed forces of Armenia have carried out a large-scale provocation in the Dashkasan, Kalbajar, Lachin and Zangilan directions of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. In response to this provocation, the Azerbaijani army inflicted crushing blows on the positions of the enemy, areas of concentration of his troops and weapons.
