On June 8, the Turkish cosmonaut of Azerbaijani origin, Tuva Cihangir Atasever, will go into space as part of a suborbital flight.
The launch will take place from the Spaceport cosmodrome located in New Mexico.
Earlier, during a conversation with reporters, he also spoke about his plans to take with him a uniform with the sewn flags of Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
"During the mission, I will have with me the flag of Türkiye. It was given to me by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in April as part of the TEKNOFEST festival. I will also take with me the flag of Azerbaijan, the homeland of my mother. Both flags will be on my chest",
the astronaut said.
In addition to this, Atasever spoke about the tasks of the mission participants in more detail. As part of the flight at an altitude of up to 90 kilometers, 13 scientific experiments will be carried out.
