The European Commissioner for Climate and Energy, Miguel Arias Canete, noted the importance of Azerbaijan in ensuring the EU's energy security.
According to him, support for projects such as the Southern Corridor gas pipeline will provide access to Azerbaijani gas, which will contribute to the diversification of energy supplies, Trend reports.
