The Khudaferin border checkpoint will soon open on the border of Azerbaijan and Iran, Governor of East Azerbaijan province Mohammed Rza Purmuhammedi said.
He clarified that all the necessary steps had been already taken.
The governor emphasized that the issue of the opening of a checkpoint after the liberation of the Azerbaijani border in Khudaferin was discussed both in Baku and Tehran.
Jabrayil region and Khudaferin were occupied in 1993, Azerbaijan liberated this region on October 18, 2020 during the Second Karabakh war.
