Azerbaijani trampoline gymnasts Svetlana Makshtareva and Veronica Zemlanaya have won silver medals by scoring 46.350 points at the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku, Trend reports.
As gymnasts said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza, they couldn't imagine it will be possible to achieve such a high result.
Belarusian gymnasts Hanna Harchonak and Tatsiana Piatrenia took first place by scoring 49.400 points and Portuguese pair Beatriz Martins and Silvia Saiote took third by scoring 45.050 points.
The first World Cup in Trampoline and Tumbling of the new Olympic cycle takes place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on February 18-19. The competition is attended by 85 gymnasts from 15 countries. Their performances are evaluated under the new rules, which came into force in 2017. The qualifications are held on Febraury 18th, the finals will be held on February 19th.
