Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Ulvi Ganizade has become a two-time world champion in the 72 kg weight class after defeating France’s Ibrahim Ghanem in the final of the World Championships in Zagreb. The final score was 4:2.
Ganizade secured his place in the championship final after defeating opponents from Algeria, South Korea, and Uzbekistan.
The Azerbaijani athlete is a silver medalist at the World Championships and also earned medals at the European Championships.
Later yesterday, another Azerbaijani wrestler Murad Ahmadiyev competed for bronze in the 97 kg weight class against Hungary's Alex Szoke.
