Baghdad market hit by two bombs, killing at least 28

Two bombs have exploded in a busy market area in central Baghdad, killing at least 28 people and wounding at least 54, Iraqi police and medical officials have said.

The blasts ripped through shops in the Al-Sinek area early on Saturday, a police colonel said. The explosions went off near a car spare parts shops during the morning rush.

Details remain unclear but one of them was triggered by a suicide bomber, the other was a planted explosive, The Guardian reports.
