According to Konstantin Vybornov, the press secretary of the head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov, ‘‘The First European Games in Baku have been organized perfectly.’’ He expressed his admiration in an interview to the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.
"The organization fully corresponds to the very high standard and status of the competitions, which guests and participants of the First European Games expected," he said.
"It is clear that competitions that take place for the first time can cause some doubts, or skepticism. But the first day has shown that the organization is really at a good level," he added.
In addition, the press secretary of the Russian Olympic Committee expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the Russian team in Greco-Roman wrestling, who won five golds and one bronze medal. Vybornov mentioned that the athletes are ready to compete for first place in the unofficial ratings.
"The way our team performed in Greco-Roman wrestling is very nice, decent, strong. But the games have just begun, and we expect that our team will fight for first place in the overall team rating,’’ he noted.
"It is clear that the competitions will be difficult. Just look at the results of the Azerbaijani team. In the first days they show an extremely strong performance," Vybornov concluded.
