Today work begins to repair the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, located in the Turkish province of Kars, which was damaged as a result of a PKK militants terrorist attack organized on August 24, the executive representative of the Sarykamysh region Yusuf Izzet Karaman reported.
He explained that the exact amount of damage inflicted cannot be assessed yet, but it is known that a 50-meter section of it was damaged.
Speaking of the timing of the completion of the work, Yusuf Izzet Karaman noted that it will not take much time. "As you know, a similar explosion took place about a month ago. The gas supply was restored within three days of the explosion. This time the gas supply will be restored within four days after the explosion," APA agency quoted him as saying.
Karaman added that the pipeline is protected in emergency mode, the number of checkpoints at it has increased.
