Dushanbe and Baku have become sister cities, the press center of the Parliament of Tajikistan reports.
The agreement on this was signed by the head of the upper house of the republic's parliament, Rustam Emomali, who is in Azerbaijan on a visit, and the head of the executive power of Baku, Eldar Azizov.
The report notes that the parties express interest in expanding cooperation between cities, strengthening work to improve conditions for various types of activities, as well as in exchanging of experience between economic entities of cities.
"Following the negotiations, Rustam Emomali and Eldar Azizov signed an Agreement on the establishment of sister city relations between Dushanbe and Baku," the press center added.
