From September 2 to 9, 2022, the Republican competition among khanende and instrumental mugham performers (tar, kamancha, balaban, qanun) will be held in Baku, the competition organizers said.
The competition will be held within the framework of the "The year of Shusha" and is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding opera singer, People's Artist of the USSR Bulbul.
The competition includes a preliminary qualifying and two main stages: the selection stage determines participants who will be selected for the first stage of the competition.
Khanende and instrumentalists aged 17-25 can participate in the competition. Each contestant must give a performance that conveys the richness and diversity of Azerbaijan's traditional musical heritage.
