Today talks between UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will be held in Ashgabat.
At the meeting Berdimuhamedov and Ban Ki-moon will discuss the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN to strengthen peace and stability in the Central Asian region and the world, the environment, the situation in Afghanistan, and the fight against drug trafficking, RIA Novosti reports.
On the eve of the meeting the Turkmen leader noted the "strategic character of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, which in recent years has reached a qualitatively new level."
