UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, stated that he counts on Russia taking a leading role in the fight against the terrorist organization Islamic State.
"We need to unite, to demonstrate global solidarity, it is necessary to respond to this common enemy represented by Islamic State and other terrorist groups," Interfax quoted him as saying.
"I hope that Russia will play a leading role in this," Ban Ki-moon added.
