According to a message posted on the website of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, an active member of the Makhachkala criminal group, who opened fire on police officers, has been eliminated in the Buynaksk district of Dagestan.
The confrontation happened yesterday, as police carried out an inspection of the deserted farms of Gayvanli, located near the 18-kilometer mark of the Makhachkala-Buynaksk highway. The identity of the militant is being established.
None of the law enforcement officers was injured. A gun, ammunition, cartridges and a silencer were found at the scene, RIA Novosti reports.
