Russian bankers express need for emergency measures to stabilize country's banking system

The head of the Regional Banking Association and chairman of the Duma Committee on Economic Policy of Russia Anatoly Aksakov, has sent a letter to the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, with information that a number of banks won't be able to fulfill standards by the end of January.

"I appeal to you with an urgent request to examine the possibility of additional urgent measures aimed at reducing the effect of the sharp depreciation of the ruble on the stability of the banking system,'' RBC cites the letter.
