Beijing has been chosen to host the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The host city was elected at the 128th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur.
Almaty was another candidate for hosting the Games.
Beijing becomes the first city to host both summer and winter Olympic Games, because China hosted Summer Olympic Games in 2008. The Olympic Games will be held in Asia for the third time in a row, TASS reports.
