The issue of whether or not Turkey should bring back capital punishment after a failed coup should be considered from a legal standpoint and not in terms of what the European Union wants, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag told broadcaster CNN Turk.
"People demand the death penalty and that demand will surely be assessed. We have to assess that demand from the standpoint on law, and not according to what the EU says," Reuters cited him as saying.
