Belgian police detain two suspected of plotting terror attack

Belgian police late Friday arrested two brothers suspected of having plotted a new terror attack in Belgium, the federal prosecutor’s office said Saturday, Wall Street Journal‎ reported.

The suspects, identified as 33-year-old Nourredine H. and Hamza H., were arrested during a series of house raids in Wallonia, the French-speaking part of the country.

The prosecutor’s office said no weapons or explosives were found and that there was no apparent link to the terror attacks on March 22 at Brussels’ airport and a subway stop in the Belgian capital. A judge was set to decide later in the day if there was enough evidence to keep the suspects in custody.
