Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said today after a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the participants in the 'Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India' pipeline project are very close to the beginning of its implementation. "The negotiations on TAPI have reached the finish line, and we stand on the eve of a momentous event – the beginning of the construction of the pipeline," he said.
According to RIA Novosti, Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the project will not only bring economic benefits for the countries that participate in the project, but will also help the convergence of nations and peoples, as well as the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan due to dividends of $1 billion and the creation of 12 thousand jobs.
