Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, chairperson of the German parliament's Defense Committee, called on Kyiv to apologize to the country's president Frank-Walter Steinmeier for refusing admission.
"Ukraine has withdrawn the federal president's invitation, with all its desire, cannot expect that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will go to Kyiv now. Maybe Ukrainian Ambassador Andriy Melnyk should just apologize to the president and then invite the chancellor politely", "Izvestia" quotes her.
She also considered Melnyk's statement "rather trivial, given the ambassador's simple language style".
