Bidzina Ivanishvili promises teachers 25% of Georgian budget

Georgia’s spending on education will be raised to 25% of the budget starting from 2021, Georgian Dream chairman, billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili said today in an interview with Kutaisi International University.

“From 2021, a very large sum will be spent on education - 25% of the budget, in order to get a target result in 8 years and become a successful and educated country,” Sputnik-Georgia quotes him as saying.

Meanwhile, Kutaisi International University will acquire state university status. “It will be a part of the large system that our state is creating,” Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
