The Admiral Grigorovich frigate has arrived at the place of its permanent basing in Sevastopol, the spokesman for the Black Sea Fleet Vyacheslav Trukhachyov said.
"This is the first vessel for distant water operation, which the Black Sea Fleet has received over the past 35 years. A salute was given at the entrance pier to welcome the vessel’s arrival," TASS cited the spokesman as saying.
For its arrival at Sevastopol, the frigate performed a passage from the Baltic to the Black Sea Fleet. The vessel left Baltiysk on April 29 and headed for the Mediterranean Sea where it called at Malta Island. In its passage in Sevastopol Bay, the frigate was accompanied by anti-sabotage boats and Kamov Ka-27 helicopters of the Black Sea Fleet’s naval aviation.
