Black Sea cyclone hits Kazakhstan

The cyclone that emerged over the Black Sea continues to influence weather in Kazakhstan this weekend. Snowfalls, torrential downpours and a dust storm are expected in different parts of the republic on Sunday, Kazakh meteorologists warn.

According to Kazakh meteorologists, on Sunday, the bad weather in the Republic of Kazakhstan will persist due to the Black Sea cyclone, moving through the Caucasus and the Caspian to the Kazakh territory.

The northern and northwestern regions of Kazakhstan will be hit by snowfalls, while the southern and southeastern regions will see prolonged downpours with hail. In the central and eastern parts of the country, the black ice on the roads is expected. A dust storm will cover the southwestern part of the republic.

A snowstorm with wind gusts up to 72 km/h is expected in Astana on Sunday. The temperature in the capital of Kazakhstan will not rise above -4 °C.
