The timing of the presidential and parliamentary elections in Syria should be decided by the Syrians themselves, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov stated.
"I think that this is an issue of inter-Syrian contacts. The elections should take place on the basis of some general agreements, including, perhaps, a new election law, amendments to the constitution. Elections should be conducted on the basis of new legal documents and the constitution – both parliamentary and presidential," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
