Today, a natural fire was extinguished near the airport outside the capital of Kazakhstan. The situation was complicated by strong winds and difficult terrain.
A large-scale fire broke out today near Astana, at a dangerous proximity to the airport, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan informs.
The emergency call was received at 12.28 local time (9.28 Moscow time). The fire engulfed the deadwood. Extinguishing was complicated by the strong wind, moreover, it was difficult to deliver the equipment to the source of ignition.
”Due to the efforts of the firefighters of the capital's garrison, the deadwood fire in the airport area was eliminated at 18:48,”

The airport operated as usual despite the fire.
