Executive VP and CEO of The Ronald S. Lauder Foundation, Joshua Spinner, visited Azerbaijan.
He visited the "Hesed Gershon" Jewish charity center in Baku, where head of the center Shaul Davydov told him about center's activities, as well as about the support it receives from the STMEGI and from its president Herman Zakharyaev personally.
Joshua Spinner also learned about the life of Jews in Azerbaijan, about the preservation of their traditions, about friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of the two countries, and about the way Azerbaijani authorities treat Jewish community.
In addition, he visited a Jewish school, a synagogue for Georgian Jews and a female mikveh.
Summing up the results of his visit, he expressed satisfaction with conditions created for the Jewish community in Azerbaijan. In addition, he noted that he liked the Azerbaijani capital. According to Spinner, Baku is a very comfortable and beautiful city.
