COVID-19 situation in some Russian regions remains tense, official says

The coronavirus situation in Russia in general is improving, but it remains quite tense in a number of regions, Deputy Health Minister Evgeny Kamkin said on Thursday, TASS reports.

"Currently, the coronavirus situation in our country is improving, but, nevertheless, it remains quite tense in a number of regions," he said at a meeting of the Regional Healthcare Council devoted to rehabilitation after COVID-19.

To date, 4,027,748 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Russia, with 3,538,422 patients having recovered from the disease. Russia’s latest data indicates 78,687 fatalities nationwide. Earlier, the Russian government set up an Internet hotline to keep the public updated on the coronavirus situation.
