CSTO to address situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border in late November

The Collective Security Council of the CSTO will consider the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border again at the end of November, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yury Ambrazevich told reporters following an extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council on Friday.

"There is a certain vision on how to proceed with this matter in the next few weeks. As far as we know, a trilateral meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani and the Russian leaders will take place in Sochi on 31 October at the initiative of Russia. The parties came to an agreement that the issue will be further discussed at the regular session of the CSTO Collective Security Council at the end of November,” Yuri Ambrazevich said.

According to Ambrazevich, the participants of today’s meeting discussed a potential response to the developments on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, based on the results of the CSTO monitoring mission, which was headed by the CSTO Secretary General that visited the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

"The most important thing is that the parties were able to discuss the prospective reaction of our organization to these issues," said the Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister.
