Ankara is optimistic about the upcoming Geneva talks on the reunification of Cyprus, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said after a meeting with the new UN Secretary General António Guterres.
According to the head of the Turkish Foreign Minister, an agreement on the reunification of Cyprus is needed not only by Turkey and Greece, but also by all the Eastern Mediterranean.
Cavusoglu said that the chances of the conclusion of the reunification agreement of the island are high, but at the same time, there are serious differences remaining on the issues of territory and security, TASS reports.
