Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu reported that his country makes ''great efforts" to normalize relations with Russia.
"We are making great efforts to overcome this period. Do not worry, relations between our countries will become as before. Our president and the prime minister made statements several times at different events that they were deeply saddened by the incident with the Russian aircraft,’’ Tass cites his statement at a visit to the Russian Society of Culture and Arts in Antalya.
"Over the past 15 years, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin, the leaders of the two countries, have made a very important contribution to the development of bilateral relations,’’ Foreign Minister reminded.
"It is necessary to work on how to resolve the current situation now,’’ Cavusoglu said, stressing that "it is impossible to allow the peoples of the two countries to suffer from the crisis."
