Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue in central Tbilisi will be upgraded in 2019, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at the Tbilisi City Assembly meeting, which approved the city budget of 927,600,000 GEL for 2019 yesterday.
Kaladze said that 38% of the Tbilisi budget will be spent on infrastructural projects.
"We have approved 357 million GEL for infrastructural projects which will be increased by 75 million GEL throughout 2019," Agenda.ge cited Kaladze as saying.
"The construction of two new multifunctional sport complexes will also start; tennis courts in Tbilisi’s Saburtalo district and in Vake Park will be renovated; Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue will be upgraded; two streets will be upgraded in Gldani district; new road will be built that will link Matchavariani and Gelovani streets – 18 million GEL will be allocated for these works," the Tbilisi mayor said.
He added that 8 million GEL will be spent on upgrading Gorgasali Street and on the renovation of the Youth Art Palace.
