The Chechen authorities have initiated about 300 criminal cases against people who were involved in the ranks of the terrorist group Islamic State, Chechen Prosecutor Sharpuddi Abdul Kadyrov said today during a meeting with the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
"All instances of participation of Chechen residents in the ranks of ISIS have been established and each of them is under investigation now. 292 criminal cases against 311 people have been initiated since November," the prosecutor said, adding that "thanks to the measures taken we managed to minimize the outflow of youth to Syria," Interfax reports.
