China intends to increase import of natural gas from Russia and Kazakhstan in the near future, an official from China's National Energy Administration (NEA) said Thursday, UrduPoint reported.
"In 2017, China imported 94.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas, including via the Central Asian gaspipeline and theChinaMyanmar gas pipeline from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Myanmar. Imports from Russia and Kazakhstan will be increased in the near future," NEA official said, as quoted by the China News Service.
He added that the number of countries supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) into China reached 22, thus the diversification of suppliers became relatively high.
