Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern said that the EU should offer Turkey a new format of cooperation instead of continuing "fictional negotiations" on the country's membership in the union.
He urged to work out a plan of cooperation between sides in the economy, security and on migration issues, which would be based on existing reality.
Kern also noted that Austria plans to propose an initiative at the EU level on termination of negotiations on Turkey's membership in the union, after working it out with other European countries.
