Churkin: foreign intervention will only worsen the situation in Syria

An external military intervention in the conflict in Syria will only worsen the situation in the country, Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin stated.

Thus, he commented on the recent statements by the representatives of Saudi Arabia about the kingdom's readiness to send troops in order to participate in the operations carried out there by the international coalition led by the United States.
