According to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, citizens of the republic suffering from diabetes will receive free medicines.
Type 1 diabetes patients under the age of 25 are prescribed analogue insulin and self-monitoring devices (glucometer and test strips); persons with diabetes insipidus, children with somatotropic insufficiency will receive vital special medicines (desmopressin and growth hormone); patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus over the age of 25 and patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus requiring insulin therapy are provided with human insulin; patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and those who are in the Unified Register of Social Protection will receive metformin free of charge as people in need.
