Closing of airspace in Russia's south extended until March 26

Russia’s aviation authorities have extended the ban on civilian flights in the south of Russia until March 26, a source in the Transport Ministry said.

"[The ban] is extended until March 26," TASS cited the source as saying.

The airspace in Russia’s south was closed on February 24. Later the restriction was extended until March 20. The Federal Air Transport Agency recommended airlines to use alternative routes through the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Moscow to transport passengers to closed airports.
