There has been an increase in the number of tourists from foreign countries visiting Russia against the background of the collapse of ruble in the country, the press secretary of the Russian Tourism Industry Union Irina Tyurina reported.
The increase is primarily provided by representatives of Asian countries, not Europeans, on whom the country's tourism industry mainly focused previously.
The growth of tourist flow is uneven and depends on the country, but overall the season is better than expected. "A year ago Moscow faced a sharp outflow of foreign tourists against the background of the Ukrainian events. However, in June 2015 the operators have felt excitement, and August secured a positive tendency," Interfax quotes Tyurina as saying.
