Conor McGregor’s eagerly-anticipated showdown with Khabib Nurmagomedov will take place at UFC 230 in New York, according to Chael Sonnen, Epxress.co.uk reports.
The UFC’s poster boy is expected to be welcomed back to the Octagon by his successor at the summit of the lightweight division.
It has been claimed that negotiations for the biggest fight in UFC history are currently ongoing and that the bout is being targeted for UFC 229 on October 6, though that notion has been dismissed by the promotion’s president, Dana White.
For several months, White has claimed Nurmagomedov vs McGregor will take place in Las Vegas, ‘The Fight Capital Of The World.’ Sonnen, however, claims to have been informed that the pair’s grudge match will take place at Madison Square Garden on November 3.
