The German Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in an interview with Berliner Morgenpost has noted the important role played by Russia in the Syrian settlement.
Thus, according to him, the truce, humanitarian missions in besieged cities and the beginning of the peace talks in Geneva all became possible thanks to the constructive participation of Russia.
The Foreign Minister also pointed out that Moscow is not interested "in continuous chaos and total destruction of the state structures in the Middle East," RIA Novosti reported.
