Russia is considering reviving international cruise routes from the Sea of Azov, which could include a connection to Georgia, according to government documents cited by RIA Novosti.
"Cruises across the Sea of Azov to foreign countries may be revived. Previously, there was a cruise route between Mariupol and Batumi. Provided that the passenger pier is restored or built, this route may be revived",
the document reads.
Currently, Taganrog is the only functional passenger port on the Russian Azov coast, with former facilities in Yeysk and Mariupol.
The four-deck motor ship "Mustai Karim" may be used for cruises departing from the Sea of Azov, the document specifies.
