Yesterday, in Moscow, 'World Shabbat' started, it will be held in Russia for the first time this year.
The event has been held in several countries since 2013. According to the concept of its initiator, the Chief Rabbi of South Africa Warren Goldstein, in this way it will be possible to unite Jews from all over the world and restore their interest in community life.
In the Russian capital, 'World Shabbat' started with a competition of celebrities in cooking various dishes of Jewish cuisine, with the participation of musician Andrei Makarevich, actor Mikhail Politseymako, TV host Leonid Yakubovich and others.
Similar events were held in 35 other regions of Russia, including the North Caucasus.
