The 2016 Curling Federation Cup among men's and women's teams started today in Sochi. The opening ceremony of the competition, which is to last until February 7th, took place at the Ice Cube Olympic stadium.
According to the rules of the competition, teams that participate in the Cup are divided into 4 groups of 4 teams each in the first stage of the competition. Then teams will play matches within the subgroups. The two best teams will play in the second stage of the competition with teams from the other subgroups according to the Olympic system: quarter-finals, semi-finals, a final match and a match for the 3rd place, UGA reports.
