Daesh terrorists are planning a series of attacks on Russian and English football fans when the two teams face off in Marseille as part of the preliminary stage of Euro 2016, The Sun newspaper reported.
According to information found on a computer notebook owned by Salah Abdeslam, the mastermind of the spate of deadly terrorists attacks in Paris and Brussels, Daesh is going to use suicide bombers, Kalashnikov assault rifles and drones armed with chemical weapons.
The laptop also contained photographs of Marseille’s Old Port area where thousands of England fans will gather ahead of the June 11 game, Sputnik reports.
Authorities fear that the terrorists may go ahead with the plan despite the arrest of Salah Abdeslam focusing on local bars and restaurants outside the tightly guarded stadiums and fan zones.
The newspaper cited a security source as saying that terrorists had apparently decided to target England and Russian fans in retaliation for Russian and British airstrikes against their brethren in Syria and Iraq.
