Daesh has shot down an Iraqi army helicopter flying over Mosul, killing two pilots on board as the gruelling battle to drive militants out of the city continues, The Independent reports citing Kurdish broadcaster Rudaw.
The helicopter was hit by a rocket launched from western Mosul, where Daesh militants are holding out in areas housing an estimated 400,000 people.
