Syrian representative Ahmed al-Sharaa stated that Syria prefers dialogue over military confrontation in addressing tensions with Israel in the south of the country.
Al-Sharaa emphasized Syria’s commitment to the 1974 Golan Heights agreements and accused Tel Aviv of escalating pressure since the change of government in Damascus last December.
"Israel has taken advantage of the transition period in Damascus and exposed the region to the risk of new conflicts, but we do not want war and will use dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the current crisis",
Ahmed al-Sharaa said.
Sky News Arabia previously reported that Washington is pressuring both Tel Aviv and Damascus to expedite a security agreement.
