Famous Georgian footballer and former director of Tbilisi Dynamo, UEFA's senior project manager within the national associations division, David Petriashvili, tragically died in Tbilisi on the night of December 21. He was hit by a police patrol car, Georgian media report.
"The death of 46-year-old David Petriashvili has shocked the Georgian and European football community. On behalf of UEFA, we would like to convey our deepest condolences," the Georgian Football Federation said.
A case has been initiated under Article 276 of the Georgian Criminal Code 'Violation of traffic rules or operation of vehicles entailing the death of a person', Interfax reports.
