Davutoglu: EU summit to become a historic event

‘‘The EU Turkey summit, which started today, will become a new beginning in relations between Ankara and Brussels,,’’ Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu said before the beginning of the event.

"Today is a historic day for our relations with the EU,’’ Gazeta.ru cites him as saying.

It is planned that at the summit EU leaders will propose Ankara a visa-free regime, financial assistance and the continuation of negotiations on accession to the European Union. Turkish authorities also commit themselves to help Europe to resolve the migration crisis.
