Davutoglu: Syrian city of Azez was attacked because of threat near Turkish borders

Turkey has applied regulations on responding to cross-border threats, and has attacked targets of the People's Protection Units (YPG) of the Syrian Kurds, the Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu stated today.

"Yesterday and today, this terrorist organization, which is also a part of the Syrian regime, attacked the city of Azez (Syria). During these attacks, aggression against our borders was committed, that is, a situation where we had to take response measures occured. These measures were taken to prevent a wave of refugees to Turkey, and to counter the threat posed by the attempts by this organization to establish a field of activity for itself in Syria," TASS quotes Davutoglu with reference to the Turkish TRT TV channel.
